Meals are what you make them. Just because you are eating clean, it does not mean you are eating bland. Spices are clean! So use what you want! However, the pre-packaged mixes are not, because they are loaded with salt and other additives to keep the different spices from clumping, so buy the spices separate, and you can find clean mixes to make on your own just as easy.
Tonight we are having a One-Pot-Meal (inspired by: apronstringblog, however, I am using another pan to pre-cook the chicken some. Anyways, all I do is add a can of homemade canned sauce to veggies and pasta in a pot, and I let the sauce cook down the pasta. So here is exactly what I made tonight:
8 oz of quartered tomatoes
1/2 package of baby bella mushrooms
1 box of spinach
1/2 Yellow Onion
1/3 Box of Whole Wheat Linguini
8 baby carrots sliced
2 chicken breasts Cooked and Cubed
Handful of frozen basil from last year's crop
Additional Spices to my liking
Another Meal that I love to Make is Hummus Crusted Chicken
I got this recipe from:oprah.com but altered it slightly.
Take your chicken breast and slice them in half to make them thinner.
Place in a baking dish sprayed with PAM
Cover your chicken with a layer of hummus - I used Sabra Roasted Garlic Hummus
I then sliced some tomato and placed on top.
Bake at 450 uncovered for 30-35 minutes.
These Recipes are really that easy, simple, delicious, & nutritious!
