So this weekend marks the beginning of the summer for many people. The pools will be open and people will be traveling to visit friends and family for cookouts, or going on a long weekend getaway. So whatever your story may be you will be faced with temptations over the long weekend. Let's be honest the weekends are a struggle to begin with because they are typically our unstructured time and we find ourselves munching for no reason. So when you think about overindulging, think about your goals and what will help you get there.
Carry a water bottle with you to all everywhere. You should drink at least 72 ounces of water everyday. Drink even more when it's hot outside, or you've had an intense workout. Drinking water is easy not to do- especially when you are busy! Also, if you feel the need to mix it up infuse it with fruit or start the day off with a cup of green tea.
What to do when going to a cookout, get together, or meal out on the town? First, make sure your other meals that day are clean and healthy. Don't forget your Shakeology, because that will give you the nutrition to power you through your day. Before I go places I like to make my shake and drink it on the way, this way I feel full longer, and I will be less likely to pick at food whereever I am going.
Get up and moving. While I am relatively diligent about getting my Beachbody workouts in, today was a beautiful day so I got the kids dressed, and headed outside. We had work to be done outside, like shovel and move 5 cubic feet of mulch, so I grabbed a shovel and helped out my hubby. We weeded the garden and prepped it to plant our veggies and greens. In between shoveling and weeding I was chasing my toddlers around making sure they did not run into the street, or roll down into the containment pit. In addition, I will be doing a 10 minute workout. The point is to get up and moving.
Have a great and safe holiday weekend! I hope these tips help keep you on track through the holiday! Please message me if you would like to work together to reach your summer health and fitness goals.
