My Results & Why My Health is Important!
So this week I have certainly had my ups and downs. On Thursday I was certainly at my lowest point in this whole process of dealing with my healthy. Amazingly, within 24 hours I received awesome news that there were no signs of cancer present in the margin of the tissue removal. So what started as tears of fear and sadness, quickly became tears of joy. Now as I sit and reflect and give thanks to all of those who were there to support me and pray for me, I know God has a plan. We may not understand it in the momement but we must be patient and in time we will see. I believe Katy (my coach) came into my life when she did to help save me. Had I not lost the weight who knows how long the tumor would have gone undiscovered.
As a mom I think we always put ourselves last and many times we let out bodies go, and accept the fact that our bodies will never be the same after kids. I am here to say that is not true. As a former college athlete I was more fit and had better nutrition than any other time in my life. The first wealth is health, because guess what, without health you have nothing. Moms, dads, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, whoever you are you have someone in your life worth living for. Put yourself first in terms of your health, because without your health you cannot be there fully for someone else.
I also believe that this episode in my life was a sign to re-focus my life. When you get the news that you have Cancer, no matter the grade, stage, or type, you are overcome with shock, fear, and sadness. It definitely makes you look at life a much different, and you start to notice the little things and appreciate the little things in life. All of the sudden doing the dishes or laundry are not at the top of the priority list, but rolling around on the floor is. You find yourself, reconnecting in faith more so than before. Sometimes, I feel that this was a wake up call, that I was not living life the way it was meant for me to live. So I am determined to grow spiritually daily, and become a better person everyday. You think I would have learned last year, when my son contracted menegitis just days after he was born, but nope, exactly a year later we were challenged with my health. I feel like I have been given a second chance in life and I am striving to make the best of it. I will make the rest of my life the best of my life in all ways possible. I like to live in the moment because you never know what is going to happen in the future.
